Dodge Model Lineup Explained

Short Answer

As of October 2026 Dodge sells two model families: the Charger muscle car, as a two-door or four-door with SIXPACK petrol engines or as the electric Charger Daytona, and the three-row Durango SUV with HEMI V-8 or, in some markets, V-6 power. Badges such as R/T, Scat Pack, SRT, Hellcat and Super Bee mark the performance level. The Challenger, Viper, Dart, Grand Caravan and Hornet have ended, and Ram pickups have been a separate brand since 2009.

How is Dodge’s current range organised?

On 25 October 2026 Dodge’s US website listed two families: the Charger, as a two-door coupé or a four-door saloon, and the Durango. Dodge is one of Stellantis’ brands, and its range runs from the SIXPACK-powered Charger R/T and Scat Pack and the all-electric Charger Daytona Scat Pack to HEMI-powered Durangos, from the GT HEMI AWD to the SRT Hellcat.

What is the Charger range?

The current Charger is the eighth generation, which began in 2024 with the electric Charger Daytona and added petrol models with the SIXPACK twin-turbo six. In 2026 the Charger R/T has the standard-output SIXPACK with 420 hp, the Charger Scat Pack the high-output version with 550 hp, and the electric Charger Daytona Scat Pack 670 hp. Every Charger has all-wheel drive and comes as a two-door or a four-door. Dodge has also announced a 600-hp 2027 Charger Super Bee Launch Edition, a limited run built at Windsor.

What is the Durango range?

The Durango is Dodge’s three-row SUV. The first arrived in 1998, the second generation in 2004 with HEMI V-8 power for the first time, and an all-new Durango in 2011 with a Pentastar V-6 or 5.7-litre HEMI V-8 and seven seats as standard. The 2027 US range runs from the GT HEMI AWD with a 360-hp 5.7-litre V-8 and the 475-hp R/T 392 to the SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Jailbreak, whose supercharged HEMI gives 710 hp.

What do R/T, SRT and Scat Pack mean?

On Dodge muscle cars R/T stands for Road and Track. SRT stands for Street and Racing Technology, the performance arm that became Dodge’s halo when the two were consolidated in 2014. Scat Pack was first used in 1968 and returned at the 2013 SEMA Show; today it marks the higher-output Chargers, the 550-hp Scat Pack and the 670-hp Daytona Scat Pack, above the 420-hp R/T.

What do Hellcat, Redeye, Demon and Jailbreak mean?

They name Dodge’s supercharged HEMI models. Hellcat arrived on the 2015 Challenger SRT with a 707-hp 6.2-litre engine, and Redeye named the 797-hp 2019 Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, whose engine was derived from the Demon’s. Demon was the 840-hp 2018 Challenger SRT Demon, followed by the 1,025-hp Demon 170 of 2023. Jailbreak was first used on the 2022 Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak, and today Dodge describes the Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak as a version with extensive personalisation, from paint to badges and seats. The Hellcat name continues on the Durango SRT Hellcat.

What do SIXPACK, Super Bee and Daytona mean?

SIXPACK is the name Dodge gave the twin-turbo 3.0-litre Hurricane straight six when it launched it in the Charger in 2025, in standard-output (420 hp) and high-output (550 hp) forms. Dodge first used the name in 1969, on the ‘Six-Pack’ 440 V-8 with three two-barrel carburettors. Super Bee began in 1968 on a Coronet-based muscle car with up to 425 hp, moved to the Charger in 1971 and returns on the 2027 Charger. Daytona has named the winged 1969 Charger Daytona, a 1984 coupe, Charger Daytona editions from 2006 and the electric Charger Daytona since 2024.

What is the Fratzog badge?

The Fratzog is Dodge’s three-pointed badge, used on its muscle cars from 1962 to 1976 and brought back as the symbol of its next-generation cars; on the 2024 Charger it is lit at the front and rear. Before it, the Dodge Brothers logo had appeared on Dodge vehicles until 1938.

Which Dodge models have been discontinued?

The HEMI-powered Charger and Challenger ended with production finishing by 31 December 2023. That Challenger had run from 2008, after the original of 1970 to 1974 and a Mitsubishi-built Challenger sold from 1978 to 1984. The Viper ended in August 2017, the last Grand Caravan was built on 21 August 2020, and the Hornet compact SUV, sold as the Hornet GT and the plug-in hybrid Hornet R/T, ended when Dodge announced in January 2026 that its production had ended. The Dart, revived for 2013, and earlier names such as the Neon, Intrepid, Stratus, Magnum, Caliber, Nitro, Journey and Avenger are not part of Dodge’s US range today.

How do Dodge generations and platforms work?

Dodge numbers Charger generations: eight since 1966, from Gen I (1966 to 1967) to Gen VIII, which began in 2024 on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform. Other lines are usually described by years and platform: the original Challenger used Chrysler’s E-body, the first Caravan a platform derived from the K-car, and the 2013 Dart Fiat’s Compact US Wide architecture. Viper generations ran from the 1992 RT/10 and the 1996 GTS coupe through the 2005 Viper SRT-10 coupe to the fifth generation, built from 2012.

Where do Ram and SRT fit?

Ram was Dodge’s pickup name, including on the 1994 Dodge Ram, but it became a stand-alone brand in October 2009, so today’s Ram pickups are not Dodges. SRT went the other way: it became a separate brand in June 2011 and was consolidated back into Dodge in 2014 as its performance halo, which is why the most powerful Dodges carry SRT badges.

Are Dodge models different in Oman and the Gulf?

Yes, the range is much smaller. On 25 October 2026 Dodge’s Oman website listed only the Durango, in GT, GT Premium, GT Premium Blacktop AWD, R/T Premium, R/T 20th Anniversary Premium and SRT Hellcat Premium versions, with a 3.6-litre Pentastar V-6 of 295 hp, a 5.7-litre HEMI V-8 or the supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI V-8. The Oman site lists the V-6, while the US site offers a 475-hp 6.4-litre R/T 392 that the Oman site does not list. Dodge’s UAE and Saudi sites also showed only the Durango; a Stellantis spokesperson said in December 2024 that the new Charger would be sold in the Middle East from the second half of 2025, but none of these sites listed it on 25 October 2026. Dodge’s Oman website names Mohsin Haider Darwish Automobiles LLC, in Al Hail, Al Seeb, Muscat, as its sales and service location and as the official distributor of Stellantis brands in Oman. Common Questions

  • Does Dodge still make the Challenger? No. The HEMI-powered Challenger and Charger ended in 2023, with production finishing by 31 December 2023. The Charger name continues on the new two-door and four-door Charger, but there is no Challenger in Dodge’s current range.
  • Is there an electric Dodge? Yes. The Charger Daytona Scat Pack is fully electric, with 670 hp from a 400-volt system and two electric drive modules. The Hornet R/T was a plug-in hybrid, but its production has ended.
  • What do SXT and GT mean on a Dodge? Dodge uses them as trim names: the 2021 Durango, for example, came as SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T, SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat. Otto found no official explanation of SXT or GT, so this article does not give one.
